Chinese Health for Ever at Wellington Square

The huge growth in the popularity of traditional Chinese medicines and healing procedures has come to Stockton with the opening of Health Ever in Wellington Square Shopping Centre.

Specialising in acupuncture, massage and herbal remedies, the store is owned by John Zhang, a doctor of Chinese medicine who has lived and worked in the UK for the last 15 years. Dr Zhang, a member of the British Acupuncture Council and the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine, used to own a national chain of Chinese health stores and currently runs another branch of Health Ever in Bolton , Lancashire .

“Over recent years, awareness of Chinese medicine has grown rapidly in the UK and there is growing recognition of its role alongside, and as an alternative to, conventional treatments,” says John. “From acupuncture to herbal supplements, we can offer something for everyone, with treatments available for stress, asthma, obesity, back pain, arthritis and a whole host of other ailments.

“I chose Stockton because the town centre is a vibrant area and I believe there is strong demand for our services. Wellington Square is a popular shopping destination and our location at the main entrance gives us a high profile with people coming in and out of the centre. Developed from ancient practices, Chinese medicine is based on the theory that the human body must exist in harmony with nature. Herbal medicines, acupuncture and remedial massage can be used either individually or together for the treatment of a huge variety of illnesses, with far fewer side effects than conventional medicine. In the Stockton store, John will be working alongside Dr Jack Ding, another doctor of Chinese medicine, and Dr Tina Yu, an expert in gynaecology.
