Sparkling Winners of Spending Spree

Stockton Sparkles readers Douglas and Nancy Hyde were delighted to find themselves winners of Wellington Square’s competition in the magazine.

They received £100 from centre manager Rob Gildersleeve to spend in the centre’s stores, which they are going to split between Debenhams and Marks & Spencer. Mrs. Hyde said, “We have never won a competition before, so this is lovely, and we are going to take our time in choosing what to spend it on. We come into Stockton town centre every Wednesday, so will spend our gift cards next time we go shopping.”

Douglas, originally from Nunthorpe and a retired British Steel engineer, now lives in Stockton with wife Nancy, originally from Ayton. He said, “We’ve lived in Stockton for forty years now, and have seen a lot of change in the town centre. We still enjoy coming here every week to shop on market day.”

Wellington Square centre manager Rob Gildersleeve said: “It’s good that our winners are regular shoppers and this is a real reward for their loyalty. We hope they will enjoy having a spending spree with us at Wellington Square.”
