We’re collecting donations at the Wellington Square Management Office – just around the corner from the public toilets and directly opposite Finishing Touches. Drop-offs are available 24/7, making it easy for you to donate.

All donated dresses, suits, and accessories will become part of a special event where school leavers can browse and choose the perfect outfit for prom without breaking the bank.

So, take a look through your wardrobe and see if you have something that deserves another dance. Your generosity can make all the difference!

Ever since they were first identified in the 1800s, dinosaurs have sparked the imagination of kids and adults alike and for the first time ever, the world-renowned Natural History Museum has teamed up with Mark Thompson Productions to take you on a dinosaur adventure like no other.

Taking place on Wednesday 16^th April, you’ll go on a pre-historic journey to the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods and watch the life-like dinosaurs come alive right on stage!

You’ll also find out more about fossils, time scales and how our planet has changed over hundreds of millions of years.

From heart-warming community projects to exciting events and national recognition, it’s been a year full of milestones. Let’s look back at what made this year so special…

Pop-Up Art Gallery
We’ve always enjoyed bringing art to our shoppers, and hosting a pop-up exhibition with second-year Fine Art students from The Northern School of Art was a perfect way to do so. The display showcased their talent and hard work, allowing customers to celebrate creativity and connect with emerging local artists.

Love Letter to Stockton
From nostalgic memories of ice skating on Ropner Park lake to celebrating Stockton’s vibrant diversity, we proudly showcased a series of poems in our car park stairwell. Created in collaboration with Stockton ARC and Tees Women Poets, the poems and illustrations beautifully capture the spirit of Stockton-on-Tees.

Roary’s Big Week
We had a fantastic time supporting our centre charity, MFC Foundation, and raising £1150 for this amazing cause. The week kicked off with our annual quiz night, hosted by BBC Tees’ Gary Philipson, with River Island as the winners. The family fun day followed, featuring sports-themed crafts, face painting, and a penalty shootout.

Say Yes to the Prom Dress
We had the pleasure of hosting a ‘Say Yes to the Prom Dress’ event at Additional Lengths, where prom-goers found beautiful dresses starting at just £5, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK, raising an incredible £734. The event brought joy, with many girls finding their dream dresses.

Planter & Photography Project
We got greener with a new planter in Centre Square, filled with bee-friendly plants  and creating a perfect spot for shoppers to relax. Created with Groundworks NE’s Men Shed team and arranged by our own team, it reflects our sustainability commitment. The planter was further brightened by photographs taken by care-experienced young people, captured in workshops with ARC.

Stockton Pop-Up Pride
Wellington Square was alive with joy during Stockton Pop-Up Pride, featuring live performances, drumming workshops, vibrant window art, and a lively market. The air was filled with laughter as visitors sang, danced, and even showed off a few impressive death-drops.

Samaritans
We were proud to support Teesside Samaritans in raising awareness about vital mental health servies. With the North-East having the highest suicide rate in England, we knew it was crucial to take action. Informative posters were displayed and coasters at Bluecorn Bakery reinforced the message that no one is alone.

Summer Fun Fiesta
We kept families entertained throughout August offering free entertainment every Saturday during the holidays. Gaming fans loved the Gamezone Bus, a mobile van featuring over 50 games. While young artists enjoyed craft sessions and face painting was also popular as always!

Wellington Wellness
Our health and wellbeing exhibitions promoted physical and mental health within the community. Offering workshops, and information sessions, it provided a supportive space for all ages to focus on their well-being, encouraging healthier lifestyles and fostering a stronger, more vibrant community.

Award Win
We couldn’t be prouder of our Marketing Manager, Chantal Taylor, who won the ‘Rising Star’ trophy at the Revo Awards. The judges praised her for delivering campaigns that rivalled international standards on a tight budget and for her dedication to creating an inclusive, enjoyable environment for the community.

To every person who’s made Wellington Square their community hub this year – whether you were performing a Bollywood dance on the mall, sharing your story as part of our window art at Pride, or just stopping by for a chat – thank you for being part of our story.

Families flocked to our events hub, where creativity took centre stage. From crafting crackers and dinosaur baubles to decorating tealight holders, little ones and grown-ups alike embraced the Christmas spirit. Faces lit up (and got fabulously painted!) as children left with memories to treasure.

Our festive soundtrack was brought to life by the talented One Voice Choir, Billingham Community Choir, Mill Lane Glee Club, and the brilliant Billingham Silver Band. Their renditions of Christmas classics and modern tunes had everyone signing along and soaking up the seasonal vibes.

Crowds were also treated to the fabulous Elton WRONG, who brought the house down with singalongs, shenanigans, and plenty of selfie moments!

Thanks to Stockton BID, we also welcomed enchanting 10ft-tall Christmas tree angels, a joyful juggler and even a magician who wowed shoppers throughout the mall.

Photo ops were aplenty this year! Families snapped festive pics in our giant golden giftbox and alongside our majestic reindeer. And, once again, our stunning Christmas lights—designed by local children—were the ultimate showstoppers.

From all of us at Wellington Square, THANK YOU for making Christmas 2024 so magical. We’re already counting down to the festivities in 2025!
